The respect and protection of the environment and continuous improvement are priorities for both CANNAMELA Management and staff. CANNAMELA acknowledges and establishes the need to adopt and maintain an Environmental Management System as a methodological code to guide and control its environmental aspects.
CANNAMELA is first and foremost committed to ensuring compliance with applicable laws and to ensure the continuous improvement of its environmental performance through specific programs intended for reduction of impacts and for an optimal resource utilization.
CANNAMELA believes that the development of its activities must be sustainable and compatible with the surrounding environment and, therefore, it undertakes to do the following while carrying out its activities:
To consistently and appropriately evaluate the environmental aspects associated with production processes. To maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and other requirements accepted by the organization as to its direct and indirect environmental aspects. To pursue continuous improvement aimed at reducing environmental impacts at the level corresponding to the economically viable application of the best technology available. To this end, after performing a thorough Initial Environmental Analysis of its productive activities, CANNAMELA has identified some priority areas of intervention and defined the following objectives:
To define the necessary measures as to reduce energy consumption and prevent the production of polluting emissions, by using renewable resources. To effectively and efficiently manage the waste related to all its production phases and, where possible, trying to re-use, recycle and recover it. To implement all possible forms of environmental risk reduction through monitoring and control systems, adequate organization of the response to the events, and proper staff training. To involve all stakeholders (e.g. customers, suppliers, competent authorities, etc. .) as to improve, where possible, the environmental management.
